Washington, D.C. Sports Agency Brotman|Winter|Fried Joins SFIA

Brotman|Winter|Fried (BWF), the Washington, D.C.-area’s leading company for sports and special events management and promotion has joined the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA).

In business continuously since 1984, BWF is now a fully-owned subsidiary of Sage Communications, D.C.’s second largest full service mar-com agency (according to the Washington Business Journal Book of Lists).  BWF handles more than a dozen of the company’s major sports properties, evenly split between sports publicity/marketing and special event creation, development and implementation.

Engaged last summer to facilitate all media relations and publicity elements for the 2015 World Police & Fire Games, BWF has – in recent years – served as the marketing agency of record for George Mason University Basketball, the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic and the Navy Mile on Pennsylvania Avenue road race.  In a PR capacity, BWF handles national media relations for the Foot Locker Cross Country High School Championships, the Army Ten Miler and the National Run to End Women’s Cancer.

In an events capacity, BWF’s 2016 schedule includes implementation, management and promotion of the USA Hockey High School National Championships, the US Specialty Sports Association’s Girls’ Fast Pitch National Championships, SoccerFest, Jimmy Lange professional boxing and the U.S. Figure Skating’s South Atlantic Regional competition.

“We’re looking forward to our participation and involvement with SFIA,” said BWF President Steve Winter.  “SFIA provides us with exposure to companies, events and activities that are a perfect match for our core competencies.  We’re stoked about the opportunity to participate in association-sponsored events and activities while getting to know the other members of the organization.”
